So I finished not one, but two Barleys!!! And I couldn’t be more pleased.

IMG_1873 Here they are, drying on my kindergarten mats…so perfect for drying your knits.

IMG_1875I love the transition from stockinette to garter stitch. And I’m super pleased with the dense squishy feeling of the fabric…a nice happy medium between body armor and being too loose.

No finishes on any of those lovelies from earlier this week…but I’ve been trying to put a row or two on each…I was just working on the fish hat and thought I’d share.

Even Sis is interested in the knits 🙂

I finished the Linier Top!!!

IMG_1761

The knitting is done. The ends are woven in. The shoulders are attached. The piece has been steam blocked..only 1 tiny problem…

I RAN OUT OF YARN FOR THE UNDERARM SEAMS!! But never fear, it will be on its way to McNeedles today where there is more yarn and it will be around it’s fellow samples.

Plus now I get to work on these beauties!

I finished up the adorable Aviatrix hat!

IMG_1756

This was such a fun pattern! I was reacquainted with short rows and used this tutorial from Cocoknits to help close up the holes I was making on my first attempt at wrap and turns. I used some awesome Liberty Wool Light to leftover from another baby project. It went super quick and I love the little earflaps…now I just have to find a sweet button.

Good morning!! I was lying in bed last night around 11:45pm (CST) and realized I had not set up this post to publish in the wee morning hours :/ I resolved to get my sleep and get up this morning to publish one. It’s 7:20am here and I do have a finish to show you!

IMG_1654

I finished the Rikke hat for me! It’s in some luscious Malabrigo Rios in the Candombe colorway. I’ve been wearing it nonstop and I absolutely adore it! It took me maybe 3 or 4 days to finish it.

PS. As April/May approaches, so does my blog anniversary. I’m trying to make a decision on whether or not to switch over to a self-hosted webpage/blog so it will be easier to find me, I’ll have more storage, and that way the link-ups will show up as little picture icons right in the post.

I’m so sorry this is a little later than usual 😦 I was recently invited to play volleyball in a few co-ed leagues. I played in high school and college so getting back on the court has been awesome!!!

In other news, I’m about 4 inches away from finishing Sam’s Cozy Man scarf!

sams man scarf5

I ended up having to buy more yarn of each color. I think my original “calculations” were off by about 100 yards maybe? Upon some careful consideration, I noticed that I made Sam’s scarf a bit wider than Jordan’s and I also used a larger needle size. Ah well. At least Knitorious, the yarn store, is only like 20 minutes away and they were super helpful.

***EDITED: Thank you to Alicia @ Woolen Diversions for letting me know the link-up was spanning the wrong dates 😦 It’s all fixed now and you should be able to add your links!***

So I dropped the ball this week on blogging and finishing!! Not to worry, I have still been knitting away! Mostly on my Caesious from Curls by Hunter Hammersen. I’m using Lorna’s Laces Sport in the Montrose colorway. Sorry, no good pictures of it, maybe I’ll get on on Instagram later today!

You guessed it! This is three weeks in a row! I finished another project! Woohoo!! Exclamation Points!

mitts3

Those are the Prolix Mitts by Laura Nelkin in her Knockout Knits book. I. Love. These. Mitts!!

Left & Right. They turned out a little different with the colors. I was hoping to end them both with reds, but it wasn’t in the cards. I used Zitron’s Opus 1. It’s 100% Merino infused with Aloe Vera & Jojoba oil. Mmmmm. Luxurious!

For this week, I finished up Jordan’s Extra Warm Ear Hat using the Very PDX Hat pattern by Liz Abinante.

Jordan's Extra Warm hat

I knit this up using the Empty Pockets Alpaca yarn and a bit of leftovers from my Equilibrium cowl since it was alpaca as well. I held the strand of yarn double and used a US size 8 needle. I gave it a bath and it bloomed beautifully 🙂

I know there were several requests last week for a link-up button, so after a little research and some time online, I created this! You can also find this button and a list of the weekly ping backs on the Freshly Finished Friday page on the left hand tool bar.

And the code:

I’m still working on finding a way to get the links to show up here at the bottom of the page with the picture thumbnails. I’m not sure I can do that without upgrading my blog. We shall see.
